    This program showcases work by junior scholars writing in the area of health law and provides them with the opportunity to receive feedback from the community. The format of the session will include brief presentations of papers, followed by comments/questions from the moderator and the audience. Papers selected from an open call address the criminalization of controlled substance prescribing, problems with Medicaid's payment model for expensive and curative pharmaceutical therapies, liability frameworks governing medical injuries caused by black-box AI, preemption in claims against manufacturers for off-label uses, and the impact of the Dobbs decision on clinical research with pregnant persons.
