This panel will examine socio-economic rights provisions in modern constitutions and conventions. In a world of COVID-19 and grave economic inequality, judicial enforcement and legislative implementation of such rights could help vulnerable groups immensely, but separation of powers and other concerns make the reality more complex. This panel's experts will discuss India, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, South Africa, the U.N Committee on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights, the United States, and elsewhere. Attendees will be invited to share their perspectives.
