The conference theme “Courage in Action” is exemplified by the Black women courageous enough to deviate from the focus of reproductive rights organizations’ focus on abortion and call for a broader examination of how we conceptualize rights. Emphasizing power and privilege reveals the limitations of a constitutional right, especially in regard to equity. This roundtable discussion will explore the reproductive justice movement and lessons that may be gained for other doctrines, such as the Second Amendment, LGBTQ+ rights, criminal law, health care, and representative governance, as well as analytical tools such as history, standing, and constitutional harm.
