As the pandemic hit, all sorts of legal proceedings moved to a virtual format by necessity. Online dispute resolution (ODR), on the rise for years, took center stage, in courts and in less formal proceedings. What can we discern about the future of ODR? What should its future be? What should be celebrated and what should cause concern? This panel will explore some of the diverse uses of ODR. We will consider not just efficiency but access to justice, and we will explore implications for consumers, for the legal profession, and for various other commercial actors.
