The Limits of the Law: How Law Clinics Can Become Problem-Solving Clinics" challenges the conventional view of law as a neutral tool and explores how clinical legal education can prepare students to think critically about the law’s limitations. This session brings together experienced clinical faculty to discuss pedagogical strategies that equip students to recognize systemic inequities, learn from legal setbacks, and develop non-legal approaches to advocacy. Through case studies and real-world examples, the workshop highlights the role of interdisciplinary partnerships and non-legal activism in addressing justice gaps. Participants will leave with practical insights on how to reframe lawyering as a broader problem-solving enterprise that empowers clients and communities beyond the courtroom.
