This panel will critically examine factors that have traditionally excluded people of color from law school teaching; explore how we can better recruit, support, and sustain clinicians of color today; and brainstorm ways to diversify law faculty more generally. The panel will consider issues such as implicit bias in hiring, the need for law schools to evaluate their own progress towards diversifying their faculty, ways to promote accountability in reaching these goals, pipeline strategies, mentoring, and cultural competence. The Section on Clinical Legal Education will be holding an awards ceremony Thursday, January 5th at 2:00 - 3:00 pm Eastern.
