    This panel will address Africa's emerging role in shaping the Investor-State Dispute Settlement System and its interplay with the Investment Protocol of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Panelists will revisit the history of African States' experiences in investment arbitration and analyze newly negotiated investment treaties. By understanding the development of the AfCFTA's Investment Chapter and its implications, attendees will gain insights into the potential reforms across the African continent, the prospective alterations in the African investment milieu, and the innovative equilibrium African States seek between foreign investment protection and pressing global standards.
