The department of Justice, through its Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT), works with partner countries to develop and establish justice systems that are fair, accountable and adhere to the rule of law.  To reach tomorrow’s lawyers, OPDAT will partner with host country law schools on various projects, ranging from curricula development to moot courts to twinning programs with U.S. law schools.  One of the most notable collaborations is an ongoing program with Wake Forest University.  Wake Forest University School of Law is in its third year of educating prosecutors and judges from Kosovo as part of OPDAT’s work.  The presentation will discuss first the menu of opportunities for U.S. law school engagement and then specifically the Wake Forest/OPDAT program.
