This discussion focuses on creating space primarily for faculty and staff of color to discuss the challenges they face at their institutions with regard to racial-justice efforts. The objectives of this discussion session are two-fold: (1) to establish a safe space for people of color and other individuals seeking to advance racial-justice work at their institutions to share the obstacles they have faced in their efforts; (2) to give faculty and staff an opportunity to share any tips and strategies for success that have worked at their institutions. We anticipate that this discussion will both create a community of individuals working toward racial-justice progress at their institutions and arm these individuals with some concrete ideas for overcoming institutional challenges.
