Explore Governors Island and the New York City harbor and learn about resiliency efforts and environmental education in the post-Sandy metropolis. Tour the Harbor School and other parts of Governor's Island; explore the NYC Waterfront; and hear from interdisciplinary experts working at the forefront of this issue, including leaders of the conservation group Waterkeeper Alliance, a landscape architect, and an expert on land use planning.
Participants should plan to take the subway followed by a ferry to the field trip site. Please meet at the statue in the lobby of the New York Hilton Midtown Hotel promptly at 9:00 am to gather as a group to walk to the subway. Participants will need to sign a waiver of liability to participate in this off-site field trip. There is an additional fee to attend this event.
