This discussion group, which includes representatives from the Holloran Center for Ethical Leadership in the Professions along with professional responsibility professors, responds to the mandates of Standard 303(b)(3), which requires law schools to offer substantial opportunities for students to develop a professional identity. It will address: 1) Understanding the concepts of professional identity and professional identity formation, 2) Ways to emphasize professional identity formation in the required first-year curriculum, 3) Opportunities to integrate professional identity formation into professional responsibility courses, and (4) Ways to foster collaboration across the law school to support professional identity formation for law students.
