  • January 5, 2024
    8:00 am - 9:40 am
    Session Type: Section Programs
    Session Capacity: N/A
    Hotel: Marriott Marquis Washington, DC
    Room: Independence Salon D
    Floor: Level M4
This program will focus on the connection between well-being, antiracism and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). Students of color and from lower socio-economic backgrounds experience unique stressors like a lack of representation/mentors, micro-messaging, unconscious bias, and financial constraints that directly impact their well-being. The program will provide a space for in-depth conversation to meet standard 303 and to help students, faculty and staff understand the intersectional nature of professional identity development, well-being resources, antiracism and DEIB. Speakers will share their work exploring the relationship between wellness, antiracism, and DEIB and provide evidence-based strategies that promote wellness, antiracism, and DEIB.
At the conclusion of the session we will hold an award ceremony to recognize our section’s award winners.
The Section held a virtual business meeting prior to the Annual Meeting.
