This session will address fair use and copyright law when dealing with social media content. Panelists will include a mix of copyright scholars and practitioners who will present acceptable and unacceptable practices in using publicly available social media content for communications and marketing efforts. The conversation will provide an update of the rapidly evolving – and often confusing – substantive laws and guiding standards for best practices, along with examples of real world scenarios. The panel will provide valuable insights for both law school marketing professionals and faculty members specializing in copyright law, fair use and social media issues.
