With the 2022 amendments to the ABA Standards and Rules of Procedure for Approval of Law Schools, ABA-accredited law schools now must provide students with substantial opportunities to develop a professional identity, along with education on bias, cross-cultural competency, and racism. Thus, the time is ripe to integrate the insights of courses that have been too often relegated to the periphery of bar-exam and/or practice-oriented law school curricula, including civil rights; critical race theory; disability rights; feminist legal theory; human rights; immigrant rights; Indian law; Latinas, Latinos, and the law; poverty law; race and American law; sexuality and the law; and more. Panelists will share their insights on how to center antiracism and related forms of systemic advocacy in the curricula and cultures of U.S. law schools.
