The COVID-19 pandemic and resulting school closures and mitigation efforts exposed and exacerbated stark inequities in primary and secondary education in communities across the United States. Pre-existing educational inequities related to socio-economic status including race, ethnicity, gender, and class became more evident and worsened during the pandemic. This panel will examine the inequities in educational access laid bare during the pandemic and persisting in its wake from legal, factual, policy, and governance perspectives.
