This program brings together scholars and activists to discuss issues relating to disability and COVID-19, including rationing of health care, accommodation of those with and without disabilities during and outside of the pandemic, COVID-19’s racially disparate effects, and more. As the presentations will explore, the pandemic has both exposed the limited commitment of the United States to disability equality, while simultaneously opening up opportunities for new forms of disability advocacy. Panelists will explore current efforts to address disability discrimination during the pandemic, as well as insights for post-pandemic law and policy from the current moment.
