Restorative Justice is a theory of justice that focuses on repairing harm and rebuilding relationships. The Circle Process is a collaborative process that brings people together as equals to navigate difficult conversations and decisions. We have used the Circle Process to engage faculty, staff, and students around difficult topics, including returning to campus post pandemic; relocating the campus; and developing our Strategic Plan. This presentation will explain the Circle Process and provide a specific, replicable example of how schools and individuals can use this process in making difficult decisions. This presentation will conclude with brainstorming of other applications of Restorative Justice principles in higher education.
