While Neo-classical Economics is portrayed by many legal scholars as the science of distribution of limited resources, the concept of social good underlies much of human activity. This panel will focus on the important role of teaching in communicating the responsibility to preserve a livable environment. The perspective of a finite world brings recognition that economic activity must operate within the scope of the sustainable limits of our planet earth. The will explore ways to help students grapple with environmental challenges and foster adaptive management in areas such as smart environmental regulations, grid strategies, energy crowdsourcing, and the lawyer’s role in environmental stewardship.
