This program will examine the ways that civil procedure—including the rules themselves, as well as scholarship and research about procedure—can either exacerbate or ameliorate structural inequalities. Because we are co-sponsoring this session with the Poverty Law Section, our discussion will emphasize the interrelationship between procedural norms and economic inequality.
