This session will explore the benefits, challenges and new possibilities in cross-practice clinical engagement using the example of family separation in the domestic child welfare and immigration domains. As politically marginalized people face increasingly complex legal landscapes, equipping law students with the tools to engage in comprehensive systems analysis and effective cross-practice rises in importance. We will present a model for cross-clinical pedagogy and practice through comparative substantive law analysis, clinic seminar design and pedagogy, and choices in case selection.
