Lawyers play a crucial role in maintaining healthy democracies, including helping clients, constituents and communities to navigate conflict, be heard, and find solutions to complex challenges. In an age of polarized rhetoric, binary thinking, and moral judgment, how do we help students expand their notion of what it means to be an effective lawyer and counselor to include the ability to hold more than one view as essential? How do we help students hear each other, and express themselves with the goal not of “winning” over others, but of furthering mutual understanding and engaging productively with difficult issues?
    Business meeting at program conclusion.
