The Minority Groups and Civil Rights Sections open an urgently needed discourse—multidimensional and mutually empowering. In the first panel, scholars critique the longstanding campaign to seize control of the federal judiciary to retrench the racial capitalism of traditional white male power by systematically dismantling civil and human rights through a “redemptive” reinterpretation of the U.S. Constitution. The second panel convenes critical scholars who study lawyers’ justice work within the organizations they lead and counsel. These companion panels illustrate how law professors and other lawyers can effectuate transformative change for justice and equality inside—and beyond—their organizations and institutions.
