Beyond Imagination?: The January 6 Insurrection brings together 14 law school deans to examine the causes and effects of January 6 from a legal perspective, so that the nation can move forward, with a commitment to the rule of law and loyalty to the Constitution. The book contributes to exposing the problems that allowed us to suffer collectively on January 6, and then to promote healing and offer, to some extent, a roadmap for collective action. They speak up for many people and speak to our entire society about what once was and should always have been beyond imagination, but which no longer is. Published by West Academic, the book will be released the first week of January to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the insurrection, which also coincides with the Annual Meeting. The session will start off with a discussion between Dean Mark Alexander, who conceived of, coordinated, and edited the project, and Louis Higgins, West Academic’s Editor-in-Chief. Dean Anthony Crowell will moderate. They will discuss the goals and value of the work, and the unique process to make it a reality. Next, Dean Danielle Conway will introduce her chapter which will serve as a starting point for a discussion on leadership, a central theme in all the book’s chapters. The chapter authors come from a broad array of backgrounds and lead many kinds of law schools in different regions throughout the country. Building on the central theme with Dean Conway, they will provide brief commentary through a structured conversation moderated by Deans Alexander and Crowell.
