In response to the national racial
reckoning that followed the murder of George Floyd, numerous law schools
pledged commitments to adopting anti-racism. This program discusses approaches
to moving from diversity, equity, and inclusion to anti-racism in improving how
we educate students and the communities we create. Discussions will focus on developing
representative curricula, erecting support structures for faculty, students and
staff of color and employing innovative approaches, such as transformative
allyship—a practice that calls on faculty and staff to spend some of their
privilege uplifting diverse colleagues and students—to caretaking.
