The forces of globalization continue to challenge the relationship between domestic constitutional regimes and the planetary imperatives of global world order. The panel offers comparative perspectives on (1) the relationship between domestic constitutional law regimes and pressures on democratic government through the activities of global criminal networks, populist mobilizations, transnational investment and extraction practices, or otherwise; (2) the way domestic constitutional regimes internalize or rationalize their repudiation of international human rights norms, or (3) the way international organizations and normative regimes promote or fail to promote the progressive development of domestic constitutional law regimes to deal with planetary challenges.
